About Event
Winter School is a 3-day program from January 17, 2020 to January 19, 2020 which offers an unmatchable learning experience with some renowned Professors and experts to the participants in the remarkable fields of Social Entrepreneurship, Accessible India, Issues of Indian Economy, Personal & Interpersonal development. It consists of Guest Lectures, Workshops, Field visits, Panel discussion, Group Discussion and Certified short courses solely managed by members of UBA.

Events MUN (Model United Nations):
MUN is an extracurricular activity in which students typically roleplay delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. Students convene at Model UN conferences, to debate their assigned agendas/topics with other nation’s states and delegates. It rejuvenates your mind with intellect, knowledge and enlightenment. On this marvelous event, you'll get to interact with diverse people, share your views on
international topics and prove your profoundness to the world. It would enable delegates to associate with other dynamic and passionate individuals and thus work together through sharing views and ideas to develop solutions and draft resolutions in response to these global issues.
“Making Things Happen in Government”
Anil Swarup is an Indian author and retired Indian Administrative Service officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre and 1981 batch. He has served in various key positions like Education Secretary of India, Coal Secretary of India, Additional Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat of India. As a strategic thinker and an innovative leader, he has won several awards and nominations. He will take a session on “Making Things Happen in the Government”.

“Growing Roots of India”
First-generation technology entrepreneur, Vijay Pratap Singh Aditya is the Co-founder, Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ekgaon technologies private Ltd.
He judged DBS-NUS Social Venture Challenge Asia, an Asia-wide competition for social enterprises. He will be sharing his views on “Growing Roots of India” and will ride us through his difficult and exciting journey of using IT to provide services to rural areas.
Shoot your Shot:
In this event, the students will have to make one short film based on social issues or issues which have an impact on society or giving a social message in a given period of 24 hours. The teams made including students from different institutes will compete with each other. The team size can vary from 3-5. All the films will be screened in front of all and the team with the video with a unique problem and a possible and
feasible solution of it will be declared winner.
Networking Workshop:
Imagine a scenario where you have to walk up to a complete stranger and ask him/her to do you a favor? This workshop is aimed at initiating conversations and breaking the ice among the participants. Also, it will help in developing and improving your communication skills. There will be a jar containing chits in it. Name of different articles will be written on those chits. Each participant has to pick one chit. And have to collect that item from other participants. It’s a very good chance to meet new people and make friends with them.
Throne of Dilemma:
Many times, we find ourselves caught up in different situations in life when doing the right is hard when we are not in a position to make a decision. In this workshop, such real- life dilemmas will be presented to participants in the form of questions. Why our action in the same situation keeps changing from time to time? What influences our decision-making process?

Why different people react differently to the same situation? All these questions will get addressed in this workshop after the workshop participants will be able to identify and understand the different social and ethical aspects of situations in life.
Field Visit
On the last day of the program, there will be a field visit in one of the villages where Unnat Bharat Abhiyan has done initiatives in the past 12 Years. The students will get exposure to what students can achieve by doing social work and how much they can change someone’s life.

“Into the Bright India”
Mr. Manoj Sharma, an alumnus of University of Delhi and having Diplomas and Certificates on Environmental Protection, Public Interest Litigation, International Affairs and Export and Import procedure conducted a workshop on "Into the Bright India" and shared his experiences working
for the tribes of Uttarakhand. The session was highly interactive and the participants went home with a new way to look upon the tribes of Uttarakhand.
“Scope of Social Entrepreneurship”
The interactive session on "Scope of Social Entrepreneurship" by Mr. Ritesh Garg, Founder, "I for Nation" helped the participants discover the true meaning of social entrepreneurship.

“Documentation and Communication Workshop” The participants enthusiastically attended the workshop on "Documentation and Communication" by Prof. V.K. Nangia, UPSC interview panelist and the mentor of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, IIT Roorkee. Many exercises were designed to stimulate the participants to think about the features of a good communication methodology. Prof. Nangia patiently cleared all the doubts of the participants.
“Art of Networking”
Prof. V.K. Nangia, Department of Management Studies, IIT Roorkee conducted a workshop on “The Art of Networking”. The workshop was full of small tips needed to improve your personality and change your mind set about interacting with people.
